          Hi Philip

I am sending some of the photos taken at our 'Mini Batch Get Together' we
had on Sunday 4th August at a popular Sri Lankan Restaurant in Harrow,London
called 'Rising Sun'.

I enclose

1. Group photo of the batch mates(1960),
2. Group photo with some of their spouses and,
3. Few photos showing some of the group enjoying the Sri Lankan Buffet and
Egg Hoppers.

The batch mates who are in the photo ( from L to R) are:
Nana, N.T.De Silva, Dinil Wickramasuriya, M.G.S.Karunanayaka, S Sivalingam,
Daya Rajapaksa, D.Subasinghe, L.G.Karunapala, Loku Makuls, D.V.Atapattu,
K.Saravanamuttu, Milroy De Silva and H.Punyadasa.

It was a wonderful opportunity to meet, greet and reflect on the good old
medical college days.

Regards

Nana

Thanks Philip for the update and I am glad that you all enjoyed the event.

Yes this is the 1st time I missed the COMSAA since its inception but I had already visited Sri Lanka 3 times this year so far!!

Very sorry indeed to hear the worrying news about Durumila.  Please convey our sincere wishes and our sincere thoughts to her and her family.

Could you please let me have some more details about the planned research- ( project details, duration and expected outcome, who are the main authors etc)so that I could share these details and get our shared support from UK and overseas.

PS:  Dr. K.P. GUnasekera's wife Nandanie died last week and I did speak to him and offered our deepest sympathies.

KP is a GP practising in Sri Lanka  and he did attend one of our get together at Habarana.

Regards

Nana

Idea from CoMSAA (Colombo Medical School Alumni Association)

My dear Nana,
Missed you at the CoMSAA. We had a lovely time at Waskaduwa Citrus and Thurya.
Prof. Sherifdeen was Chief Guest.
They have started a research fund in CoMSAA. Prof Sherifdeen suggested 10 Lakh Rupee contributions from each contributor.
Why not we start  a contribution from our batch. I discussed this with Kapu and Karals. All three of us decided to contribute Rs.50,000/ each,  if this was started.
You will be the ideal person to start this in the UK.
What are your views.
'Duru' is in Intensive Care.
